Make media. Consume media. Interact with it, play with it, change it. Love all over it.
Whether you're a company, a non-profit, an artist, a journalist or just a 21st century person who wants to connect to the the world in new and more meaningful ways, Organic Process is a good way in. We make and curate creative content and we tell stories about worthwhile causes and enterprises. And when we take, we give back.
Books, video, art, business: Organic Process is what happens when it all intersects.
BEN TIMPSON's Medium is the Message
We had a great time visiting Ben Timpson in Kansas City, Missouri. We were there to film Ben creating a new piece. To our suprise & delight he was dedicating the piece to Mitchell & I. His "performance piece" he appropriately gave the title "Picnic"is based on a photograph by Emily Stewart from Charleston's Most Unique of Mitchell & I "having a picnic".

Wow! When you see Ben at work; it's no suprise that Marshall McLuhan is one of his major influences. No, it's not McLuhan's design that influences Ben, it's his philosophy that "the medium is the message" -Marshall McLuhan
Ben will be having a show in Charleston this Fall/Winter where his originals will be on view for the first time! The audience will be able to view the print as well as the original slide under a magnifying glass. "The Making of the Picnic" video will also be screening as part of the exhibit.

Utah Phillips Dies
We are inspired by great artists and I feel compelled to make this post in honor of one ...Utah Phillips was such a huge influence on me and he just died. One of the dream projects we hope to work on sometime in the next couple of years is a documentary on his life. I learned of Utah from Ani Difranco's music. She brought him to a wide public awarenes when she made the album "the past didn't go anywhere", which deeply changed me at a very important time. I remember the moment.
Link to an article about him published this week: http://www.sltrib.com/opinion/ci_9418841
This is an art video of his song (not produced by us) bridges below (listen to about 5:15 to get a good gist of what this guy is about). And yes that is Ani in the background of the tune. Utah was really a bad ass and I wish I could have met him before he died.

Standing Room Only Premiere of Pura Vida!
many thanks to everyone who came out to support the Pura Vida Media project at the Charleston International Film Festival this past weekend. We had to convince the festival organizers to sell 20 standing room only tickets and we still turned away 20-30 people. It was bedlam. And the film was very well received artistically which was very important to us.
Also thanks to the 150 or so folks who helped us raise over $3000 at the after party fundraiser. We shipped several thousand dollars of media to Steve Sanchez in Arizona for a film premiere and media fundraiser there and there will also be one in Costa Rica in September. All proceeds benefitting the orphanage.
Here are some pics below from the event. Thanks to Chuck Heilig for his fantastic camera and post-production work, Fuzzco, Colleen Terrell and all the sponsors for making this a great project. And of course Tim McManus without whom this would have definitely never happened.

Baird Hoffmire, winner of the super sweet Dewey Weber longboard donated by McKevlins Surf Shop (and my brother in law who lives in Atlanta far from the waves. So we are getting to keep this bad boy at our house!)

Scene from the very packed after-after party at the Trusted Palate. Cary Ann Hearst and Micheal Trent are as good as old soulful country blues gets. For sure. Thanks to Beth and Ian at the Trusted Palate.
More pics coming soon!
