Web of Water (WOW) Video Project

This set of educational webisode videos and half-hour broadcast documentary was done in cooperation with SCETV and the Lowcountry Environmental Education Program (LEEP). OPP followed naturalist Ian Sanchez from Table Rock, SC to the Charleston Harbor (a three week adventure). In the process Ian met students, rangers, scientists and everyday folks interpreting the rivers of South Carolina.

The Web of Water documentary along with the Finding Pura Vida movie have aired on ETV, throughout 2009.

Falling Together in New Orleans

Takashi Horisaki and a small team of volunteers were working 20-hour days in the 100-degree heat when OPP found them completing an art project in the Lower 9th Ward of New Orleans. Working on a largely abandoned block of the city, they worked with a mission to remind people of "what is still happening" in NOLA two years after the floods. Takashi's Blog

Emergency Communities in the Lower 9 (from Vignette 3)

Emergency Communities is a non-profit organization that employs compassion and creativity to provide community-based disaster relief. Since Katrina, they have operated four relief sites, served over 300,000 meals and 25,000 residents of the Gulf. [emergencycommunities.org]

Web of Water - Spring Media Tour

There is a lot of upcoming action on the Web of Water video. Farrah and I were interviewed last friday at ETV studios for an upcoming boradcast featuring the half hour documentary on April 23. And now a string of showings have been announced for Spring.

Ian Sanchez, naturalist and executive director of LEEP will screen the Web of Water documentary at Southeastern Wildlife Exposition on Feb. 14th (1:30 PM) and 15th (11:00 AM) at the Riveria Theatre.

Below is a schedule of other events planned this spring. We will update this post as more screenings are announced.
