Falling Together in New Orleans NOLA Premiere

Q&A Zeitgeist

Mithell & Farrah Q&A

OPP was honored to screen Falling Together in New Orleans in New Orleans at Zeitgeist Multi-Disciplinary Arts Center @ Tulane University June 17, 2007.
We had a fantastic experience in NOLA screening vignettes I & II and filming for vignette III. The film was received well and we had a great discussion and Q&A.

We met some amazing people & captured some great footage and enlightening interviews. Here’s a little run down of who we interviewed for vignette III. Thanks to everyone who graciously shared their perspectives on the rebuilding of New Orleans.

Bobby from a California church group volunteering with Emergency Communities Summer Camp for kids in the Lower 9th Ward. The kids from the church wanted to come to NOLA & volunteer. Thanks to Bobby & other adult church members; 14 kids got to come and be a part of rebuilding the Lower 9th Ward. Thanks, Bobby for showing the kids that it CAN be done!

Katie & Farrah

Farrah interviewing Katie, a volunteer coordinator for EC. Katie hitch-hiked from Idaho to NOLA to help after the storms. She’s been volunteering full-time for 2yrs now! Thanks Katie for your important work!

Farrah & Lewis

We visited Lewis Taylor from vignette I. Lewis is doing well after finding his family & getting a trailer. Here, he’s at his sister, Antoinette’s home in Algiers. Lewis is 82 now & stays busy.

Takashi & Farrah

Farrah & Takashi discussing their works. Takashi is an amazing artist creating an awareness raising sculpture; a replica of the surface of a shotgun-style house in latex, then displacing the replica to New York’s Socrates Sculpture Park. It was great to meet Takashi & his assistant, James! Takashi Horisaki

Bill Lavender & Farrah

Farrah interviewing poet & writer; Bill Lavander. Bill’s published some great works. One of my favorites is a collaborative work from NolaFugees.com called
