Media Tour launch in Charleston; Xark Article
The Hurricane Katrina Media Campus Tour premiere at the CofC Tate Center was a great success with a standing room only crowd. Thanks to Lisa O'bierne & John Clarkin for embracing our project. What an impressive building and an interesting combination of art & business.
The most common feedback from the night was "inspiring", which for any artist or event producer is as good as it gets.
We are grateful to all of those who came & who participated. Marcus Amaker graced us with a couple of poems he wrote, inspired by New Orleans. The man touches you, deep. Also, thanks to Anna Shillinglaw who filmed the Katrina Ballads performance & helped me a lot with the event. Thanks to Anna's man, Rob from the beautiful Band of Horses - who helped out at the door. Thanks to Beth Winters for helping with transportation & merchandise. Beth is a real woman. Thanks to Dan & Janet Conover for all their support & interest.
We are so psyched to leave tomorrow for NY & bring the Hurricane Katrina Media Project event to the good people of Buffalo & NYC! We'll keep you posted.

XARK ARTICLE: Whether we are succesful at this OPP experiment or not remains to be seen...but here is an article that really gets at the heart of what we are trying to do. This was written by Dan Conover. Danhas been helping us with this website and he is a person who definitely gets media in an incredibly effective and inspiring way.
